Prompt Engineering. The Sommelier of the Digital Age.

Yesterday, I found myself in the private office of a friend - a top sommelier. While he got distracted by a call, I, of course, started browsing his bookshelves. My eye immediately caught a book with a promising title: “Gourmet Food & Wine Pairing Around the Globe.” Gorgeous photos, juicy headlines - marketing done incredibly. I thought: “Wow, this must be a goldmine!”

And then I stumbled upon the “Frequently Asked Questions” section. I was rubbing my hands in anticipation, expecting lively questions like:
- “I’m going on a date with only $50 in my pocket - how do I win her heart?”
- or “I just got a promotion, need to treat my team. What can I bring that shows generosity without being a show-off?”
- or at least: “Why does food & wine pairing matter in the first place?”
But reality hit me with disappointing banality: “How long do I need to chill wine?”, “How do I tell if the wine is corked?” … Maybe these questions matter, but in the context of such a book? Really? Instead of insights, I found trivial instructions. Honestly, I felt like ripping the page out so no one else would spread this “knowledge” like a virus.
And then it struck me: this isn’t just about one book. It’s a reflection of the broader problem - books, podcasts, courses that promise depth but deliver emptiness.
But our head is not a trash bin for cheap content, it’s a jewelry box for treasures. And the treasures we fill it with define our clarity, confidence, happiness - and the happiness of those around us.
Today, the problem isn’t the amount of information. It’s the ability to ask the right questions.
It’s like food & wine: you can grab the first cheese you see, and it’ll be “fine.” Or you can choose the pairing that unlocks an entirely new world of flavor.
I remember once in the restaurant, a guest told me: “I only have 15 minutes for lunch. Make it unforgettable.” That was a challenge! And exactly such questions create magic - when the right pairing isn’t just about food and wine, but about mood, memory, and emotion.
With information, it’s the same. Research shows: 80% of people type queries into Google as if they were talking to a calculator. No wonder they get dry, shallow answers. But if you dare to ask deeper - suddenly, a whole new world opens up.
With wine, the worst outcome of a wrong pairing is a sour face. With information, you can live for years feeding on “fast food for the brain,” never realizing that just around the corner there’s fine dining for the mind.
And that’s why AI prompt engineering has become so important. It’s almost like food & wine pairing - but for knowledge. The art of combining the right question with the right answer to create something extraordinary.
And it’s not just poetry: AI prompt engineering is now one of the most in-demand and highest-paid professions worldwide.
I’m not hinting at anything…
Just saying.
With love, Maria ❤️
